I'm playing through mafia 2 DE and it feel great playing this masterpiece after 11 years since the last time I've played, but boy oh boy the fighting is absolute dog shit and aged horrible.. I honestly didn't mind the fist-fighting mechanics, I felt it was pretty unique. That said Mafia 2 isn't Yakuza so it's not really as fleshed out.
